Pros

Excellent resources and well funded which rivals many private schools. Lovely town. Smallish school. Only GCSE + KS3.

Cons

Obsessed with Ofsted! Meetings every single morning before school. Mandatory teaching at lunchtime for Y11. Bullying with anyone who ‘doesn’t quite fit in.’ Archaic behavioural system where the teacher is punished if they follow the policy for disruption and attempt to remove students. Parents will object to any disciplinary actions and senior staff will ridicule you if you attempt to ‘educate’ as they don’t really want to deal with any problems or fallout (see parents). Behaviour of some classes is appalling and there is no true support from leadership. Leaders want cookie cutter lessons that need to be perfect or you’ll be ‘supported’ faster than you can quit. Good luck teaching there!
