Some excellent teachers who are sadly highly undervalued.

Cons

I have never in my whole career worked at a school as horrific as this one. 34 members of staff resigned in the same year as me, suffer severe negative mental health as a consequence of accepting employment here. Behaviour was shocking and staff being sent to A&E after getting attacked off pupils was not uncommon. The behaviour policy was poor and changed constantly. It wasn't uncommon to be sworn at by students and no sanction issued. SLT were highly unsupportive and typically backed students over staff. One particular member of SLT who was acting principle for some time was a narcissistic bully. The way she treated staff was appalling, but thankfully, karma came to bite her and she has finally resigned.

Pros

Some fantastic staff, good facilities and building. HOY are supportive.

Cons

Extremely poor behaviour - not uncommon to be sworn at by pupils. Constantly repeating yourself with regards to expectations- which are then not followed. No real sanctions in place. SLT do not back you up with regards to behaviour; question you as the staff, rather than believe what you’ve said on face value. SLT also do not follow their own policies - then demand that you do. Poor morale and high staff absence.
