Heron Academy

Pros

Most teachers and most ta's are good and thorough and keep the children happy, clean, and well looked after. The midday staff that come in to do the the personal care for the children are caring and children are well looked after.

Cons

The management is incredibly poor. The school failed its last ofsted as a result of this hence why the name was changed from Micheal tippett to Heron Acdemy to avoid the stigma following the school, however its the same poor managment. Staff moral is incredibly low due to the bullying nature of the senior leadership team. They have created an environment where they are looking for faults in staff instead of helping staff to grow and be assets to the school. Management focus on abusing the power they have, and have created a bullying nature towards staff, i stayed a year and it was the worst year of my working life. Everything is so unprofessional if you raise anything mangement begin a witchhunt on you to get you out rather than trying to fix the issue. If you thinking of working here please dont for your mental health! Behavour policies just seem to be made up as they go along so no consistancy there, because they are so appalling whenever good staff came they did not stay so there is no consistancy with staff. I didnt realise how bad they were until i started my new job, poor poor working environment.
